Chanel Roehner Receives All-Region Nod

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Syracuse University junior utility player Chanel Roehner was selected to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Northeast Region First Team on Wednesday. Roehner, who was also named to the All-BIG EAST First Team, becomes the 13th SU softball player to earn all-region honors.
In league play, Roehner finished second the BIG EAST with a .463 batting average (25-54). She also ranked in the top-seven in slugging percentage (.704), on-base percentage (.491), hits (25) and doubles (7). The junior also pitched 129.0 innings for the Orange, striking out 80 batters while compiling 12 victories and two saves. Overall, Roehner led SU with a .336 batting average. She scored 27 runs and drove in 29 more. She ended the year with a .537 slugging percentage and had 12 doubles and six home runs.
