'Cuse Renews Rivalry With Cornell

SYRACUSE, NY -- Syracuse will renew one of its longest-standing rivalries when it hosts Cornell in men's basketball on Saturday, December 22, at 7:00 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The Orange and Big Red last met on Nov. 9, 2005 in the 2K Sports Classic at the Dome. Syracuse won the matchup, 67-62.
SU owns an 83-31 advantage in the all-time series. The two program first met on the hardwood in Feb. 2001. The Orange have won 29 straight against Cornell. The last Big Red triumph in the series was a 93-81 victory on Dec. 4, 1968.
Cornell was 16-12 overall and 9-5 in the Ivy League last winter. The Big Red are coached by Steve Donahue.
