Goodale won gold in the eight at the 2007 FISA World Cup stop in Lucerne and finished seventh in the pair at the 2007 FISA World Cup stop in Linz. In 2006, she won gold in the eight at the FISA World Championships, silver in the eight at the 2006 FISA World Cup stop in Lucerne and won the Remenham Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta. She also finished 11th in the pair at the 2006 FISA World Cup stop in Munich. Goodale finished fourth in the eight at the 2005 FISA World Championships.
Liwski won bronze in the eight at the 2006 FISA World Championships and finished ninth in the pair at the 2005 FISA World Cup stop in Eton. In 2003, Liwski finished second in the eight at the Kiel Canal Cup and won gold in the eight and finished fourth in the pair at the Pan American Games. He also won gold in the eight at the 2002 Under 23 World Regatta and finished fifth in the four with coxswain at the 1997 FISA Junior World Championships.
The international rowing season culminates each year with the all-important World Rowing Championships, which determine the world’s best in each of the 23 able-bodied and 4 adaptive boat classes. The week-long event is held on the most prestigious rowing courses around the world and attracts close to 1000 rowers from all five continents. Spectator turnout is always high, and millions of viewers tune in to follow the racing on television. During Olympic years, only boat classes which do not compete at the Olympics take part in the World Championships, at the same time, and at the same venue as the Junior World Championships.
