Orange Welcome Familiar Face into the Dome

Syracuse plays its second-to-last non-conference game against Siena at the Carrier Dome on December 28 at 7 pm. Siena defeated the Orange 83-66 in 2002-03 in the teams’ last meeting and leads the all-time series 5-3.
The Saints finished 10-20 overall and 8-10 in the MAAC year ago. Siena is coached by Gina Castelli, the winningest basketball coach in school history. The Saints are led by senior Shondaya Burrell, who averaged 11.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game in 2006-07.
Orange head coach Quentin Hillsman and associate head coach Matt Luneau both coached as assistants at Siena prior to joining the Syracuse staff. Assistant coach Mary McKissack played at Siena, guiding the Saints to three consecutive MAAC regular-season championships.
The Orange has announced all but one of their non-conference games. SU previously released games against Coppin State (Nov. 17), North Carolina (Nov. 18), Lehigh (Nov. 25), Colgate (Nov. 28), Eastern Kentucky (Dec. 1), Louisiana Monroe /Alabama State (Dec. 2), Penn State (Dec. 6), Northeastern (Dec. 9), Princeton (Dec. 16), Maryland Eastern Shore (Dec. 19) and Saint Peter’s (Dec. 22).
