Three Former Orange Prepare For Conference Championships

Three former Orange football student-athletes remain in the National Football League Playoffs as the teams enter their respective conference championships. Cornerback Steven Gregory of the San Diego Chargers, heads to the New England Patriots on Sunday, Jan. 20 for the AFC Championship game (3 p.m., CBS). New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin and wide receiver/special teams specialist David Tyree travels to the Green Bay Packers for the NFC Championship contest (6:30 p.m., Fox).
Gregory and the Chargers advanced after a 28-24 victory at the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. During the game, San Diego's defense forced three turnovers and held the Colts rushing attack to only 44 yards.
Coughlin earned his 105 NFL victory when Tyree and the Giants defeated the Dallas Cowboys, 21-17, on Sunday in Dallas. With the contest even (14-14) at halftime, the Giants limited the Cowboys to only three second half points, while score a touchdown in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
