Seven former Orange football standouts remain in pursuit of the National Football League Holy Grail -- the Vince Lombardi Trophy. For these men and the teams they represent, only two victories stand in the way of a trip to Glendale, Ariz. -- home of Super Bowl XLII.

Three of the four divisional playoff games have at least one former Orange represented, including three SU alumni who play for the defending Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts -- Dwight Freeney, Marvin Harrison and Josh Thomas.

Indianapolis is coming off a first round bye and will host the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. (CBS). Freeney, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, will sit out the contest after being put on injured reserve on Nov. 14 with a left foot injury. Harrison hopes to be back for the game after missing all but five games with a knee injury. Thomas, who has filled in for Freeney, has amassed 28 tackles, including 21 solo, this season.

Lining up for the Chargers, who are coming off a 17-6 victory against the Tennessee Titans, is cornerback Steve Gregory. The 2006 Syracuse graduate has posted 11 tackles in 17 games.

Head coach and former Orange Tom Coughlin tries to improve on his 104-89 all-time record as he takes the New York Giants to Dallas for a 4:30 p.m. game on Sunday, Jan. 13 (Fox) against the Cowboys. Gearing up for the Giants is wide receiver and special teams ace David Tyree, a 2006 Pro Bowl selection.

James Wyche, a defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars, will miss the Saturday, Jan. 12 game at 8 p.m. at New England (CBS) after sitting out the 2007 campaign on injured reserve.
