Defensive tackle Arthur Jones' career-day in Syracuse's 24-23 victory at Notre Dame earned him BIG EAST Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors and an ESPN College Gameday 'Helmet Sticker'. The junior recorded a career-best 15 tackles, including four for a loss of 24 yards and 1.5 sacks. His 15 tackles is the most by a BIG EAST down lineman this season. Jones led the Orange defense that limited Notre Dame to just 41 yards rushing.
Jones has 54 tackles, including 13.0 for a loss of yards and 3.5 sacks, this season. His 13.0 tackles for a loss ranks sixth on Syracuse's single-season record list. In 34 career games, Jones has 119 tackles, which is 13th on Syracuse's record list for tackles by a down lineman. His 31.5 tackles for a loss is sixth in school history. The Orange record is 50.5 set by Dwight Freeney (1998-01).
