SYRACUSE, NY -- The men's basketball team, riding the crest of an 8-0 start, advanced in both national polls that were announced on Monday. Syracuse moved from 16 to 13 in the Associated Press Poll and from 20 to 16 in the ESPN/USA Today rankings.
The 13th slot in the Associated Press ranking is Syracuse's highest placement since the end of the 2004-05 regular season, when the Orange also were rated 13th.
Syracuse's 8-0 start is the programs best since the 2001-02 squad was 9-0 before losing.
The Orange return to the court on Saturday, December 13, to take on Long Beach State at 12:00 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
Tickets for Saturday's game are available online, by phone through Ticketmaster in the Syracuse area at (315) 472-0700, or in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office.
