SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange swimming and diving, track and field and tennis teams all competed during the weekend. Swimming and diving held senior day and its final dual meet against Villanova on Saturday, while track and field was at three different locations. Tennis was on a Kansas-Missouri swing, with matches at Kansas State on Saturday and at Missouri on Sunday.
The Orange split its final dual meet of the year when the men posted a 199-87 victory against Villanova, while the women lost 154.5-139.5 on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Webster Pool. The men, who won 14 events, finish with a 4-1 record, while the women, touched first in nine events stand at 2-3. Junior Alex Taraskin, freshman Kuba Kotynia, freshman Berk Kahraman each doubled up with victories for the men, while for the women freshman Natalie Mazzetta claimed three first-place finishes. Junior Catrina Roth had two first-place efforts.

Head coach Luke Jensen's squad was on the road this past weekend with matches at Kansas State on Saturday, Feb. 2 and at Missouri on Sunday, Feb. 3. Against the Wildcats, sophomore Chelsea Jones posted her third singles victory of the season, but Kansas State outlasted the Orange, 5-2. Against the Tigers, sophomore Ashley Spicer, earned the Orange's second singles victory against Kansas State, also won her third singles victory, but Missouri claimed the win, 6-1.

The track and field team was scattered across the Northeast with the squad competing at three different venues. The Orange hosted the Syracuse Invitational on Friday, Feb.1 and Saturday, Feb. 2 inside Manley Field House. Others competed at the 101st Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden on Friday or at the Giegengack Invitational hosted by Yale on Saturday, Feb. 2. Senior Jillian Drouin, who won the pentathlon, registered a BIG EAST and ECAC-qualifying performance in the high jump, posting a height of 1.76m at the Syracuse Invite. At "The World's Most Famous Arena" senior Ramon Sosa posted a 7.84 time for first place in the 60m hurdles. Graduate Jordan Davis set a Syracuse standard in the one-mile run with a time of 4:02.79 while competing at the Giegengack Invite.
