BALTIMORE – Orange head coach John Desko and Sandy Bridgeman of the University of New Hampshire have been selected as the U.S. Lacrosse Coaches of the Week for the week ending March 16. Both will be recognized on CSTV’s broadcast of the Navy-Colgate men’s game on Sunday, March 23.
Syracuse beat No. 4 Johns Hopkins in overtime on March 15 to improve to 4-1. It was the second straight overtime win for the Orange and improved the team’s record to 3-1 in one-goal games this year.
Bridgeman led the Wildcats to a 16-5 victory against previously unbeaten Harvard during the week and then beat No. 10 Vanderbilt, 10-7, over the weekend.
Desko’s honor marks the second time in the last two years he has earned the group’s weekly award. He was named Coach of the Week in 2007 after the Orange upset then-No.2 Albany.
