Gibbs Named Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Freshman Hallie Gibbs, a third baseman of the softball team, is the Syracuse University Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of April 21.
Gibbs, who hails from Munster, Ind., was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll following the fall 2007 semester. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Gibbs has started all 43 games in 2008. She has launched four home runs and tallied 21 RBI, ranked second on the Orange in both categories. She leads the team with 23 free passes. Defensively, Gibbs boasts a .949 fielding percentage.
The Orange returns to the diamond at Canisius on Thursday, April 24 at 3:00 p.m.
