SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Erica Mahon, a member of the women’s rowing team, is the Syracuse University Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of May 19.

Mahon, a Niantic, Conn., native, is a six-time Athletic Director’s Honor Roll honoree and has thrice been named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star. She is majoring in inclusive elementary education.

During the 2006-07 season, Mahon rowed in the seven-seat for the second varsity eight. In the last four meets of the 2008 season, she has sat in the six-seat for the first varsity eight.

The Syracuse women’s rowing team competed at the Eastern Sprints in Camden, N.J. on May 18. The second varsity four finished third, while the varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four qualified for the petite finals.
