SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore middle blocker Sarah Morton has been tabbed one of the nation’s top five blockers in 2007 by Collegiate Volleyball Update. Morton set the Orange’s single-season record with 72 solo blocks.
Morton tallied 163 total blocks, averaging 1.34 per game which ranks fourth on Syracuse’s single-season ledger. She ranked second on the team with a .317 attack percentage and totaled 308 kills. Morton was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on September 24.
Morton shares honorable mention distinction with Louisville’s Lecia Brown, Portland State Michelle Segun and Tennessee State’s Endia Oliver. Penn State’s Christa Harmotto was tabbed the nation’s top blocker.
