The Orange completed a school-record tying, 16-win season by defeating Johns Hopkins, 13-10, on Memorial Day to win the crown. Syracuse became just the second team in NCAA history to win the title after missing the playoffs the previous year. For Coach John Desko it was his fourth championship, the third-most by a Divsion I head coach.
