Senior Nana Sang-Bender qualified for the event final in the 5000m run and rookie Flings Owusu-Agyapong will compete in the 100m dash on the women’s side.

Both are gearing up for the event in the oval’s infield.
Also, it looks like senior Jillian Drouin, sophomore Annabelle Pellerin and sophomore Melissa Romero are prepping for the women’s high jump. Drouin, the heptathlon champion from yesterday, is the Orange’s record holder with a leap of 1.87m at 2007 championships. She and Pellerin have already punched their tickets for the NCAA Regional.

The men and women’s 4x100m relays are in the books here at Jumbo Elliott Track on the campus of Villanova. The Orange men’s team of rookie Shamel Lewis, graduate Aulton Kohn, senior Ramon Sosa and junior Bernard Bush finished seventh overall with a season-high time of 41.89 seconds. Cincinnati won the event, clocking in at 41.48 seconds.
If Kohn’s 4x100m leg was any foreshadowing indicator of his performance in the 100m dash finals today, the fans and Orange faithful are in for a treat. After a baton exchange with Lewis, the veteran dusted the field heading into the third leg.
On the women’s side, the Orange did not finish the race after the exchange between rookies Lareea Chisholm and Flings Owusu-Agyapong was fumbled. The final results are still being tallied.
Junior Nana Sang-Bender is in the starting blocks for the women’s 1500m finals. She posted a time of 4:32.40 in the prelims.
Graduate Sheron Mark and junior Kayla Carter are currently in the triple jump pit.
