
Doodeman Named to CRCA All-American Second Team and Mastracci Earns CRCA Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Ally Doodeman was named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) 2008 Division I Pocock All-American Second Team. Doodeman was also named to the Mid-Atlantic Region First Team. Freshman Natalie Mastracci was named to the Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team.
Doodeman sat in the varsity eight stroke seat in every race during the 2007-08 and 2006-07 seasons. During the 2005-06 season, the Thorold, Ontario native rowed in various seats in the varsity eight boat all year. She was named to the CRCA Mid-Atlantic Region First Team. In 2004-05, Doodeman moved from the freshman eight boat to the junior varsity boat and finished her freshman season a member of the varsity eight.
Mastracci rowed in the seven seat of the varsity eight this season. Both Mastracci and Doodeman ended the 2007-08 season by being invited to the Canadian Under-23 Seat Racing Camp this June.
The CRCA All-America Team recognizes outstanding performances of individual rowers and coxswains at NCAA DI institutions. To be nominated for CRCA accolades student-athletes must meet all eligibility rules as defined by her institution and must have rowed at least 75 percent of the season's races in the varsity boat (before and including May 18, 2008). The student-athlete must be nominated by her institution and the head coach of the student-athlete's institution must be a member in good standing of the CRCA. All-American athletes are selected from those athletes already named First-Team All Region. Criteria considered for selection include: boat performance, nomination rank, coach’s comments, individual achievements, and 2k erg score.
