What was your ‘Welcome to college football' moment?
I can't really recall, man, that was three years ago.
With only a week left, what does the team need to work on the most to prepare for Northwestern?
The mental side of it. The mental preparation … knowing our opponent well and just going into it with confidence.
What is one part of your game that you feel more confident about this year than last year?
The deep ball. Last year I struggled with the deep ball, but this year, I really think I've gotten a hold on it.
Have you noticed any one player or unit of players who has really broken through this camp?
The running backs have really stood out. You have Delone (Carter), Curtis Brinkley who are just coming back from injury, Doug Hogue's been coming on strong and then you look to the freshmen who are strong with with Averin (Collier), Antwon Bailey and Jerry Harden.
What did the Buffalo game mean to you when you stepped in for Dowayne Davis and made nine tackles?
I just want to build on that from last year. That was last year and it was a good game for me. Of course, I know that and a lot of other people know that, but I just have to build on that and come on strong in the Northwestern game.
Five years after graduating from Syracuse I will be …
Hopefully in the NFL, but if not, I'd like to be a homicide detective either in Washington D.C. or Miami.
Advice to first-year teammates?
Just know your mental assignments and come in here working really hard and be open-minded to other guys teaching you new things. It's not high school anymore. The game is more complex now.

Other than football, what sport do you think you could dominate at Syracuse?
That's a good one, I'm not really sure. Probably baseball, if we had a team.

Are you really messy or are you a clean freak?
Oh, I'm very neat. You can ask my roommate, I'm one of the neatest guys you'll ever meet.
