SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Midfielder Scott Kahoe (Villanova, Pa.) has joined the Orange men’s lacrosse team SU head coach John Desko announced on Friday, Aug. 29. Kahoe transferred from Georgetown and has one year of eligibility left.
Kahoe is the second transfer to join the Orange this fall. Former Villanova defenseman John Lade joined the program last week.
Kahoe played in 42 games in three seasons at Georgetown (2005-06, 2008). He appeared in all 13 games for the Hoyas last year and made two starts after missing the 2007 campaign while recovering from a shoulder injury. He has 11 career goals and also has experience taking faceoffs. Kahoe is 17-of-38 (.447) in his career at the faceoff stripe.
Kahoe’s most productive season was as a freshman in 2005. He scored six goals and finished with seven points. Two of his goals came in the postseason (vs. Army and Maryland) as he helped lead the Hoyas to the NCAA Quarterfinals.
Kahoe earned All-America honors as a senior at Radnor High School in 2004 and was a two-time all-state selection. He also won Catholic League MVP honors in his final scholastic season. In addition to lacrosse, Kahoe played football and basketball at Radnor.
Syracuse won its record 10th NCAA title in 2008 and posted a 16-2 overall record. The defending national champions return to the field on Sept. 8 for the start of fall practice.
