SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse is scheduled to welcome Lehigh to the Carrier Dome on Tuesday, December 2 at p.m. It is the third consecutive year that the Orange and Mountain Hawks have squared-off on the basketball court. The teams split the first two meeting, both winning on its respective home floor.
Syracuse led the whole way en route to a 61-54 home-opening victory against Lehigh last season in Manley Field House. The Orange had three players in double-digits with Nicole Michael leading the way with 18 points. Fantasia Goodwin and Chandrea Jones added 10 apiece. Jones also pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds for her first double-double in an SU uniform.
Lehigh was victorious, 55-48, in the teams’ first meeting ever in 2006-07. Michael led the Orange with 21 points and nine rebounds. Mary Joe Riley added 10 points and recorded a personal-best steals for the Orange. Fantasia Goodwin pulled down eight rebounds.
The Mountain Hawks return their top-four leading scorers, including Alex Ross (10.8 ppg), Erica Prosser (9.8 ppg), Tricia Smith (9.1 ppg) and Melissa Rich (8.0 ppg). Lehigh finished the year 18-13 overall and 9-5 in the Patriot League.
