Orange in the NFL
The National Football League's two divisional championship games on Sunday feature former Orange standouts on the sidelines and in the front offices. The NFC Championship game pits standout quarterback Donovan McNabb calling signals for the Philadelphia Eagles against Arizona Cardinals, which employs former Orange linebacker and SU Athletics administrator Reggie Terry and former SU safety Quentin Harris. Both Terry and Harris work in the Cardinals front office. In addition, tight end Alex Shor is on the Cardinals practice squad.
McNabb led the Eagles back to the NFC Championship game for the fifth time in his career, completing 22-of-40 passes for 217 yards and one touchdown in a 23-11 victory against the New York Giants. In his 10 years with the Eagles, McNabb has thrown for almost 30,000 yards and had 196 touchdown passes.
In the AFC Championship game, the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Baltimore Ravens. Former Orange safety Anthony Smith is in his second year with the Steelers. The Ravens roster features two Orange standouts in offensive tackle Adam Terry and linebacker/special teams standout Jameel McClain, who made the Baltimore squad as a rookie free agent.
Terry is in his fourth year in the NFL and has started 18 games in his career, while McClain has 20 tackles, including 2.5 sacks, and has scored two safeties in 18 games. Smith, who is in his second year with the Steelers, has nine tackles.
