
Orange Scholar-Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Seniors Andrew Robinson and Sarah Morton have been named Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of October 5, 2009.
Robinson made the transition to tight end during 2009 Spring practice. He has contributed offensively and on special teams for the Syracuse football team in every game this season.
A finance and marketing management double major in the Whitman School of Management, Robinson is a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll every semester. The SU football team will take the field against West Virginia on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 12 p.m.
Morton is a senior middle blocker on the Syracuse volleyball team. She leads the nation with 104 total blocks and ranks seventh with 1.51 blocks per game. A team co-captain, Morton was a BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll selection for her performance in the Big Orange Tournament. She was also Tournament MVP. She is tied for the lead on the SU career records list in solo blocks with 193.
Morton is a public health major in the College of Human Ecology and will join her teammates when they host Colgate on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. The Orange will then travel to face conference rival St. John's for a 2 p.m. contest on Saturday, Oct. 10. The team plays Connecticut the following day at 2 p.m.
