Syracuse center Jim McKenzie will return to the field when the Orange play at #14/14 Pittsburgh on November 7 (12:00 p.m., ESPNU), head coach Doug Marrone announced today. A senior from Springfield, Pa., McKenzie missed SU's last three games due to injury. He has played in 28 games, including 27 starts, for the Orange.
Marrone also announced that junior defensive end Jared Kimmel will have season-ending knee surgery to repair the same knee that was injured and surgically reconstructed in 2007. Kimmel reported that he was experiencing discomfort in his left knee during the Cincinnati game on October 31. He will have surgery in the near future. Kimmel has played in all eight games this season and has 12 tackles, including two for a loss of yards and 1.5 sacks.
The Orange will also be without running back Antwon Bailey, defensive end Torrey Ball and offensive guard Andrew Tiller, who have been suspended for a violation of team rules.
