Flashes From Flynn - March 12 - Syracuse University Athletics

Sophomore guard Jonny Flynn had 19 points and a game-high 11 assists to help Syracuse defeat Seton Hall, 89-74, in the BIG EAST Conference Tournament last night. Flynn and the Orange are now preparing for a quarterfinal matchup with Connecticut on Thursday night.

Here are some of Flynn's thoughts about the next challenge facing Syracuse:

"We just wanted to get past this first game (against Seton Hall). We came out a little flat and struggled shooting a little bit but picked it up in the second half. It's always good to go against a rivalry like UCONN. They put it to us in Connecticut this year. It's great to get a chance to get back at them and beat them."

"We can't let them (Connecticut) dominate us, especially the big guy (Hasheem Thabeet). He really basically dominated the game and controlled the game from a defensive standpoint. I think we just have to go in there stronger, look to get it down low to Arinze, looking for kick outs. Really go at the mindset we're not going to let this guy control the game from a defensive standpoint."
