
College Basketball Fans Love the Orange

SYRACUSE – The numbers are out and college basketball fans from coast-to-coast love the Syracuse Orange. All three of Syracuse's games in the BIG EAST Tournament averaged more than 2.2 million households and three million viewers. In fact, SU's three games in the BIG EAST Tournament ranked as ESPN's three highest-rated games of 'Championship Week.'
The BIG EAST Championship game between Syracuse and Louisville was extremely popular, ranking as ESPN's most-viewed BIG EAST game (regular or postseason) in at least the past 18 years and was seen among 2.7 million households and 3.8 million viewers. The game was the second-most watched game this year in college basketball, trailing just the Duke-North Carolina game on CBS the previous Sunday.
Syracuse enters the NCAA Tournament with a 26-9 overall record and a number three seed. The Orange squares off with Stephen F. Austin on Friday, March 20, at 12:15 p.m. in Miami, Fla., in first-round action.
