SYRACUSE, NY – The BIG EAST Conference pairings for the 2009-10 Syracuse men's basketball schedule has been announced by the league. The Orange conference itinerary includes 18 BIG games and features home-and-home series with Georgetown, Louisville and Providence.
For the second straight year, each conference team will play the rest of the league members at least once. In addition to Syracuse's two-game sets, the Orange will host Connecticut, Marquette, Pittsburgh, St. John's, USF and Villanova. The road slate includes Cincinnati, DePaul, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Seton Hall and West Virginia.
Seven league members – Connecticut, Louisville, Marquette, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Villanova and West Virginia – earned NCAA Tournament berths last year. Five of the seven reached the Sweet 16, four were in the Elite Eight and Connecticut and Villanova both reached the Final Four. Georgetown, Notre Dame and Providence represented the BIG EAST in the NIT.
