Goodale Strikes Gold Again

SU rowing alumna Anna Goodale '05 struck gold at the recent World Rowing Championships held in Poznan, Poland. The events lasted from August 23-30 and featured the elite athletes from the international rowing community.
As a member of the US women's 8, Goodale and her teammates posted a top time of 6:05.34 in the event's finale, besting Romania (6:06.94) and the Netherlands (6:07.43). The women's 8 also topped its opponents in the opening round of competition, posting the highest time from both preceding heats.
In addition to its gold medal in the women's 8+, the US earned a gold in the women's 2- and a pair of silvers in the women's 4x and women's 4- events.
At SU, Goodale was a three time CRCA All-American, earning first team distinctions in 2003 and 2005, and a second team honor in 2004. She was also the recipient of the Soladay Award in 2005, the most distinguished honor bestowed upon an athlete at Syracuse University.
After completing her SU rowing career, Goodale earned a spot on the US National team in 2005. In 2008, her women's 8 team captured gold at the Beijing Olympic Games.
