
Orange Scholar-Athletes of the Week

Junior cornerback Kevyn Scott (Tamarac, Fla.) and senior outside hitter Annabelle Pellerin (Frankford, Ontario) have been named Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of September 21, 2009.
Scott has started all three games for the Syracuse football team. He ranks second among defensive backs with 13 total tackles, one interception, and a pass break-up. Scott recorded four tackles in the 37-34 win against Northwestern. He attended the 2009 University Presidential Inaugural Conference, including the inauguration of President Barack Obama, in Washington, D.C. as a member of the National Honor Society.
A major in information management and technology, Scott will join the rest of the Orange football team when they face Maine in the Carrier Dome on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. It will be the team's final matchup before it begins BIG EAST play.
Pellerin is an outside hitter for the Syracuse volleyball team. She has played in all 13 matches this season, and has recorded 88 kills. With a .230 hitting percentage, Pellerin ranks third on the team in total blocks with 32.
Pellerin is a senior biology major and is SU's only female student-athlete competing in two sports for the Orange. She is also a member of the track and field team. The Syracuse volleyball team will host Cornell on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. before beginning conference play at West Virginia on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 2 p.m. The team will then travel to face BIG EAST rival Pittsburgh on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 2 p.m.
