Guide To Homecoming Weekend

Syracuse University and the surrounding community is gearing up for an “Orange Out” weekend in support of the football team's Homecoming game against Pittsburgh on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 12 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. For alums returning campus or local fans who want to join in the spirit of Homecoming, here's everything you need to know about the events leading up to the big game.
Syracuse vs. Pittsburgh
Communicate directly with Dome management staff at any time via text message. Fans are invited to use the system if they need medical or housekeeping assistance or need security assistance regarding fan behavior. Every message will be read and responded to, as appropriate, as quickly as possible.
Tops Family Section
A special alcohol-free section at the Carrier Dome, the Tops Family Section, will provide families with a safe, comfortable spectator experience.
All fans are also invited to follow the Orange on their mobile device by directing their browser to suathletics.com/fbmobile.
Located on the concourse level, overlooking the field, Club 4•4 is the ultimate luxury experience for those looking to relax, mingle, and most importantly, cheer on the Orange. Memberships are available through the Orange Club Office (315-443-1419).
Saturday, Oct. 16
Syracuse University Quad/9 a.m.
Start gameday off right. There's face painting and jumpies for the kids, a performance by the band the Fabcats and the Orange women's basketball team will be on hand to sign autographs. Quad activities also include performances by the SU marching band, cheerleaders, dance team and Otto.
Friday, Oct. 15
Walton Street in Armory Square/12 p.m.
The event will be hosted by TK99's Gomez and Dave and feature Hall of Fame coach Dick MacPherson, Orange All-America tight end Chris Gedney and Voice of the Orange Matt Park. The SU cheerleaders, marching band and Otto will also be on hand to pump up the crowd as Syracuse prepares to take on Pittsburgh.
Friday, Oct. 15
Area businesses are encouraged to submit a photo of their team sporting their Orange to the United Way for a chance to win a block of tickets and Skytop parking passes for SU's game against Louisville on Nov. 6, in addition to a football autographed by SU head coach Doug Marrone.
All week
Syracuse University has a host of Homecoming and reunion events planned this week for students, alumni, faculty/staff and community members. They include the Orange Central Bash, hosted by Hall of Famer Floyd Little and his wife, DeBorah. The Orange Central's biggest and most unique party is Friday, October 15, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Schine Student Center's Goldstein Auditorium. Syracuse University alumni, students, faculty, and staff are invited to mingle in a festive atmosphere. Enjoy food and live entertainment. And applaud the presentation of the Orange Circle Award to altruistic SU people.
Friday evening, the attention turns to the Carrier Dome for an NBA preseason game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons, featuring the return of Wes Johnson, Jonny Flynn and Jason Hart, and an evening with legendary E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg (Thursday) and more!
