SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Kevyn Scott (Tamarac, Fla.) of the Orange football team and women's ice hockey student-athlete, junior Kelly Dimmen (Colorado Springs, Colo.), are the Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 1, 2010.
Scott missed the first seven games this season due to injury, but returned to help SU defeat Cincinnati, 31-7, on Saturday. He made three tackles on special teams against the Bearcats. He has played in 24 games at Syracuse at cornerback and safety, and recorded 41 tackles.
Scott, an information management and technology major, and the 6-2 Orange return to the friendly confines of the Carrier Dome to host Louisville on Friday, November 6 at 12 p.m.
Dimmen is one of seven SU skaters remaining from the original Orange roster when the program began in 2008. She has played in 73 games during her career as a key member of SU's defense. Dimmen has helped Syracuse earn its best start in program history at 4-4-1. She has tallied two goals and eight assists throughout her career, including one assist this season in a win against Connecticut.
Dimmen, a dual major in economics and international relations, and the Orange will return home to face Clarkson on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at Tennity Ice Pavilion.
