Johnson Named To Robertson Award List

SYRACUSE, NY -- Junior forward Wes Johnson has been named a finalist for the 2010 Oscar Robertson Trophy. The annual award is selected by the United States Basketball Writers Association of America (USBWA).
Johnson has started all 26 games for the #5/5 Orange this season. He leads the team in scoring (16.0), rebounding (8.8) and minutes-played (33.8) averages. He has posted double-digit scoring efforts in 23-of-26 games this season. His 10 double-doubles also lead the team.
He is a member of the John R. .Wooden Award Midseason Top 30 list and also a Fox Sports Player of the Year candidate. Johnson was named MVP at the 2k Sports Classic. He was named BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week on November 23 and has been picked for the weekly honor roll twice.
Syracuse is 24-2 heading into a Thursday night matchup at #10/10 Georgetown.
The Oscar Robertson Trophy will be presented on April 2 as part of the NCAA Final Four weekend in Indianapolis.
