Jamieson, White Earn Weekly Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior Cody Jamieson and junior #Joel White# were both named to the first BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, Feb. 22 for their performances in the Orange's 15-9 win against Denver Friday.
Jamieson led the Orange with a career-best four goals against the Pioneers. He scored twice in the first quarter and had back-to-back goals in a 3-0 third-quarter run that resulted in the Orange's largest lead of the game (14-4).
White registered three caused turnovers and collected six ground balls, tying for team-high and game-high honors in both categories. He keyed an SU defense that surrendered just five goals through three quarters and helped hold Denver's three starting midfielders without a point.
Gerhard Buehning of Rutgers was named the first BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after registering three goals and three assists in a 24-4 victory at Wagner. Notre Dame's Scott Rodgers was tabbed the inaugural BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week. Rodgers made 15 saves to help the Fighting Irish to an 11-7 win against second-ranked Duke.
Syracuse returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 28. The Orange will host Army at 5 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
