Haney Out for Rest of Spring Practice
4/13/2010 9:00:32 PM | Football
Syracuse University senior defensive tackle Ollie Haney will sit out the final three Spring practice sessions, including the Spring game on April 17, due to a concussion he sustained on March 29, 2010. Haney has not practiced since the injury and experienced post-concussive symptoms through the end of last week. Though his symptoms have resolved, he will not participate in further Spring practice due to the length of his post-concussive symptoms and his history of a prior concussion in August, 2008.
Haney, who moved to nose tackle from offensive guard after 2009 Spring practice, played in four games in 2009. He is a 2008 BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection and earned a spot on the 2008 Spring, 2008 Fall and 2009 Spring Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
The Orange will hold the 13th of 15 Spring practice sessions on Wednesday, April 14 at 3:50 p.m. For a complete Spring practice schedule, click here.
The annual Spring game is Saturday, April 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. Admission and parking are free. Gates open at 11:00 a.m.
