SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Natalie Mastracci (Toronto, Ontario) and sophomore Ryan Barber (Camillus, N.Y.) have been named the Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of April 26, 2010.
Mastracci is a member of the women's rowing varsity eight. She helped lead the Orange to a third-place finish in the BIG EAST Championship, rowing in the seventh seat. Mastracci was named a CRCA Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team All-American in 2009, rowing in the second seat of the varsity eight during the spring season.
Mastracci is a dual major in english and textual studies and French. The women's rowing team heads to Washington to compete in the Windermere Cup on Saturday, May 1.
Barber is an attackman on the men's lacrosse team. He has played in 11 games for the Orange this season, registering two points on a goal and an assist and has five ground balls.
Barber is an information management and technology major in the School of Information Studies. The men's lacrosse team visits Notre Dame on Saturday, May 1 at 7 p.m.
