PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse was well represented on Thursday, May 13 when the BIG EAST Conference announced its inaugural men's lacrosse awards and all-conference teams. Senior Chris Daniello and junior John Galloway took home major awards as Daniello was named the BIG EAST Attack Player of the Year and Galloway was the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year, respectively. Both players were unanimous selections.
In all, eight Orange players were recognized by the conference and Syracuse placed seven players on the 14-man All-BIG EAST First Team.
Junior Jeremy Thompson, who was voted the team's specialty player, and Joel White, who was one of the squad's two longstick midfielders, joined Daniello and Galloway on the first team along with senior Cody Jamieson, junior John Lade and junior Jovan Miller. Jamieson, Lade and Miller were at-large choices and Miller was selected unanimously.
In addition, junior Stephen Keogh and Thompson were named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team as at-large picks.
Voting for the individual awards and all-conference teams was conducted by the league's seven head coaches following the conclusion of the regular season. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players.
