FieldTurf Installation is Next for Manley Field House Renovation

A major step in the Manley Field House renovation project will begin later this week when crews start installing FieldTurf. The basketball court and jumping pit areas have been filled, which was the final step to be completed before the permanent surface can be installed.
The FieldTurf will provide an 80- to 90-yard football field and will also be wide enough for lacrosse. In addition, a three-lane running track surface will be installed that will run around the entire perimeter.
In late July, the metal support structure that had held the portable bleachers in place was removed. After the entire structure was gone, work began to repair the floor and fill in the area which had been the basketball court and the jumping pits. Prior that, the portable bleachers and the wood basketball court and the structure that was holding the bleachers in place were removed.
The project, which began after Commencement in May, is expected to be completed this fall.
