
Haney Sidelined by Pectoralis Injury

Syracuse senior nose tackle Ollie Haney will miss the 2010 season due to a left pectoralis muscle injury sustained on August 21. An MRI taken on August 22 revealed a tear to the muscle that will require surgery. As a result of the surgery and rehabilitation process, Haney will not return for the 2010 season. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Irving Raphael in the near future.
The Clark, N.J. native played in four games in 2009 after moving to nose tackle from offensive guard. Haney, a physical education major, earned honors on the 2008 BIG EAST All-Academic Team and was a three-time member of the Syracuse University Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
The Orange kicks off the 2010 season at Akron on Saturday, September 4 (6:00 p.m., ESPN3). SU opens at home against Maine on September 18 at 7:15 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
