ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Former Syracuse standouts Dan Hardy and Kenny Nims were selected by the Rochester Knighthawks in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) Dispersal Draft of Orlando Titans players on Friday, Aug. 6. Hardy was taken with the team's second pick (13th overall) and Nims was selected with Rochester's third pick (23rd overall).
Hardy and Nims were teammates on SU's 2008 and 2009 national championship teams. Hardy earned honorable mention All-America recognition three times and assisted on the Orange's game-winning goal in overtime of the 2009 NCAA title game against Cornell. Nims earned first-team All-America honors as a senior in 2009 and scored the tying goal against the Big Red to force OT.
Hardy totaled 136 points (83g, 53a) in his collegiate career. Nims finished with 175 (93g, 82a).
The dispersal draft of Titans players became necessary when majority owner Gary Rosenbach made the decision last month to decrease his interest in the club. Subsequently, the Titans decided not play the 2011 NLL season while the team re-structures its ownership.
