Segbers to be Inducted into Hall of Fame Friday

Syracuse spirit program coordinator and head cheerleading coach Dena Segbers will be inducted into the Canandaigua Academy Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, Sept. 24. Segbers and the other inductees will participate in the homecoming parade and be honored at halftime of the football game the following day at Evans Field.

Segbers was named Most Valuable Cheerleader in the winter of 1983. She served as Academy's head cheerleading coach from 1985 to 1996 before joining Victor High School. Segbers won many Finger Lakes and Section 5 titles and has been named Section 5 Coach of the Year 13 times.

Segbers has served as the head coach of Syracuse University cheerleading team for the past eight years.
