Syracuse kicker Ross Krautman (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) earned freshman All-America honors for his performance in 2010. The first-year kicker was honored as a first-team selection by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), The Sporting News, and Rivals.com. He earned second team Freshman All-America honors from CollegeFootballNews.com.
Krautman tied the Syracuse single-season record for field goal percentage, connecting on 18-of-19 (94.7 pct.), field goals made in one season with his 18th against Kansas State in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl, and for consecutive field goals made (16). He tied Gary Anderson's marks from 1981 in all three categories. He is tied for second nationally in field goal percentage. Krautman led the 2010 Orange in scoring with 84 points, which ties for 13th on Syracuse's single-season scoring list.
Krautman and the Orange closed the 2010 season with a 36-34 victory in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl, capping an 8-5 season under the direction of second-year coach Doug Marrone.
