Syracuse Up To Fourth In National Polls

The Syracuse men's basketball team (15-0, 2-0) has advanced one slot into fourth place in the two national polls released on Monday, January 3. The Orange defeated Providence (81-74) and #15/15 Notre Dame (70-58) during the past week.
The fourth-place ranking in the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Coaches polls is the club's highest rating this season. The Orange reached the top spot a year ago.
The BIG EAST Conference is well represented in the rankings. In the AP Poll, Pittsburgh is fifth, Villanova seventh, Connecticut eighth, Georgetown 13th, Notre Dame 15th and Cincinnati 24th. In the ESPN/USA Today Poll, Pittsburgh is fifth, Villanova seventh, Connecticut ninth, Georgetown 13th, Notre Dame 15th, Louisville 23rd and Cincinnati 25th.
Syracuse plays at Seton Hall on Saturday, January 8, at 12:00 p.m.
