MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Syracuse puts its four-game winning streak on the line when it faces West Virginia in Morgantown, W.Va. on Sunday, Oct. 9. Game time is set for 1 p.m. The Orange enters the game with a 6-4-3 overall mark and a 5-2 record in BIG EAST play. The Mountaineers, which are tied for the top spot in the American Division, are 13-2 overall and 6-1 in the league.
THE SERIES
Sunday's game at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in Morgantown, W.Va. marks the 13th meeting between Syracuse and West Virginia. The Mountaineers lead the all-time series, 7-3-2. The Orange has not registered a victory against WVU since 1998
SCOUTING WEST VIRGINIA
West Virginia features a balanced scoring attack as 11 different Mountaineers have registered goals. Heading into the weekend, Blake Miller led WVU with five goals. Ten different WVU players have recorded assists, with Kate Schwindel and Bry McCarthy tallying four apiece. Sara Keane leads the Mountaineers' goalkeeping efforts.
ANGHEL CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Sophomore Brittany Anghel posted her 12th career shutout in Syracuse's 3-0 victory at Pittsburgh on Friday. Anghel is now tied for third on SU's all-time shutouts list with Katie Karlander (1999-00).
