SU AT MSG
The win against Virginia Tech improved Syracuse's overall record at Madison Square Garden to 86-71, and the Orange is now 68-43 under the watch of head coach Jim Boeheim. SU will play at MSG two more times this season with a game at St. John's and then in the BIG EAST Tournament.
LAST TIME OUT
Syracuse defeated the Hokies 69-58 on Wednesday, and has now opened the season 5-0 for the eight straight year.
Kris Joseph and #C.J Fair# each had double-doubles to lead SU past the Hokies. Joseph had his highest scoring output of the season with 20 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. Fair tallied 12 points and pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds.
The Orange trailed VT for the first 27:50 of the game, but a dunk courtesy of Fair gave Syracuse its first lead of the game at 44-42, which came during an 11-0 Orange run. Once SU took the lead, the Orange did not trail for the remainder of the contest.
Dion Waiters scored all 11 of his points in the second half, including nine consecutive for the Orange in a three-minute span. Brandon Triche hit four three pointers and finished with a season-high 18 points.
SU has been going to work down low this season. In its five games this season, Syracuse has a 212-88 advantage of points in the paint.
SCOUTING THE CARDINAL

Fourth year head coach Johnny Dawkins is 54-48 at Stanford. Last year the Cardinal did not play with a senior for the first time in program history and is looking to improve upon a 15-16 overall record.
This will be the first ever meeting Syracuse and Stanford.
