Coming off a third consecutive NCAA Northeast Regional cross country championship, Syracuse head coach Chris Fox will shift gears as the Orange prepare for the 2011-12 indoor track & field campaign. SU commences its season this weekend at the Cornell Relays in Ithaca, N.Y. at Barton Hall.
Following its competition this weekend, Syracuse will have more than a month off before returning to Ithaca on January 21 for the Cornell Upstate Challenge, where both squads finished third last season. SU will close January with a split squad weekend at the Penn State National Invitational and Boston University Terrier Invitational.
The Orange will open the second month of the season in New York City for the first of three competitions throughout the 2011-12 campaign with the New Balance Collegiate Invite. Another split squad weekend at the Binghamton Dual and Valentine Invitational will take Syracuse up to the BIG EAST Championships, located back in New York City at the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory.
After a week off, SU will compete in the Columbia Last Chance on March 3 before qualifying athletes head to the IC4A Championships (March 3-4), ECAC Championships (March 3-4) and NCAA Indoor Championships (March 9-10).
