After a pair of school records on Friday, the Syracuse track and field teams continued setting personal bests on Saturday at Clemson's Tiger Paw Invitational and Boston University's David Hemery Invitational.
In Boston, Emma Eastman led the way in the 5,000-meter run, finishing 25th overall in a field of nearly 200 entrants. Eastman set a PR time of 16:02.83. Madeline Heintz (16:19.90) also turned in a career-best time. Freshmen Jayden Harberts (16:36.59), Gretta Johnson (16:55.97) and Mackenzie Cook (17:33.94) all had solid performances in their first collegiate indoor 5ks.
In the 3,000-meter run, Sarah Lawson posted a time of 9:49.43, followed by Beatriz Fernandes in 10:00.08. Lawson's time was a new career best.
At Clemson, all three Orange runners in the 200-meter dash either tied or set new personal bests. Indie Wallace-Persaud led the way in 24.07 second, followed by Nicea Jones (24.58) and Sierra Joseph (25.08).
'Cuse is back in action next weekend at the Marc Deneault Memorial Invitational, hosted by Cornell, on Saturday. It is the final regular season tune-up before the ACC Championships begin on Thursday, February 26.
