Orange Holds Steady At No. 1

NIKE/Inside Lacrosse Poll | USILA Poll
BALTIMORE – The Syracuse men's lacrosse team retained its No. 1 ranking in both national polls this week after defeating Albany and Johns Hopkins last week. The Orange owns the top spot for the fifth straight week in the latest NIKE/Inside Lacrosse Poll released on Monday, March 21, and sits alone atop the USILA Coaches Poll for the third consecutive week.
The Orange received 300 points and all 15 first-place votes in the media poll. In the USILA rankings, Syracuse earned 280 points and all 14 first-place nods. Virginia remains second in both polls.
Overall, the top five in both sets of rankings is the same. Behind Syracuse and Virginia is No. 3 Notre Dame followed by Duke and Maryland. Duke upset North Carolina last week on the road and has won five in a row to vault into the No. 4 position.
The Orange returns to action on Saturday, March 26 when it visits BIG EAST foe Villanova. Game time is 7 p.m. at Villanova Stadium.
