SU's Cutler Re-Injures Knee

Senior fullback Carl Cutler will miss the remainder of Syracuse's Spring football practice due to a tear in his anterior cruciate ligament. Cutler reported left knee pain and swelling after practice on March 22 and an MRI performed March 23 revealed an ACL tear and additional injuries to the knee that was surgically reconstructed last spring after he injured the knee in Spring practice. Cutler will undergo another reconstructive surgery in the near future. His status for the 2011 season will be re-evaluated over the summer.

As a sophomore in 2009, Cutler played in all 12 games. He gained 22 yards on four carries, including his first collegiate touchdown against Rutgers.

The 2011 Orange will host a Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Day at practice today at Manley Field House beginning at 4:20 p.m. This Saturday, SU will travel to Sahlen's Field in Rochester for an intra-squad scrimmage.

All spring practices are free and open to the public.
