The Syracuse softball squad hits the road once again, as it continues its 2011 BIG EAST schedule. This weekend, the team travels to Tampa, Fla. to take on South Florida in a three-game series. Action kicks off with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 2 beginning at 1 p.m. and concludes with a single game on Sunday, April 3 at 11 a.m.
Syracuse Notes
• SU enters this weekend's games with a 24-5 overall record.
• After sweeping a three-game series against Rutgers, the 3-0 BIG EAST start is the squad's best opening conference performance since 2008.
• The team is currently on a seven-game win streak, just one win shy of tying the longest streak in program history.
• With 23 runs in game one of the series against Rutgers, the Orange topped a single-game program best. The previous record of 15 runs was set earlier this season against Gardner-Webb. SU also set a new team-best with 19 hits in the outing.
• Junior first baseman Kelly Saco was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on March 28. Saco went 6-for-12 at the plate in the Rutgers series, slugging 1.250 with a homerun in each of the squad's three games, to help capture her first career weekly award.
• Junior pitcher Jenna Caira was named to the BIG EAST weekly honor roll in Week Six. Caira is currently ranked tied for 13th in the nation with 15 victories on the season. The Torono, Ontario native is ranked 25th in strikeouts with 142.
• Junior outfielder Lisaira Daniels leads the team with a .351 batting average, 34 hits and 21 RBI.

• South Florida has won its last three out of four games to enter this weekend's series against Syracuse with a 19-15 overall record.
• USF has just one BIG EAST game in the books so far this season, as inclement weather postponed two of the squad' s games at St. John's on Mar. 26-27. In the final game of the series, the Bulls earned a five-inning, 10-2 mercy rule victory against St. John's.
• The Bulls offensive effort is led by Stephanie Medina, who has a .400 batting average through 34 games. Medina has five homeruns on the season and 34 RBI.
Series History
• South Florida holds a 5-1 advantage against Syracuse in the all-time series.
• The Bulls have won the last three consecutive meetings, including the teams' most recent matchup in May 2009, when USF pulled out a 5-4 victory.
