SU Recruits At Jordan Brand Classic

Center Rakeem Christmas and shooting guard Michael Carter-Williams, who have both signed letters of intent to play at Syracuse University next year, have been selected to participate on the East Team in the Jordan Brand Classic at the Time Warner Cable Area in Charlotte, N.C. The game is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Saurday, April 16th.
Christmas and Williams both led their teams to district semi-finals (Pennsylvania Independent Schools and New England Prepetory Schools, respectivly), and both were listed in the ESPNU Top 100 rankings for the nation's high school basketball players. Williams averaged 23.9 points and 8.3 rebounds and Christmas averaged 11.3 points and 9.6 rebounds, according to ESPN.com. Both Christmas and Williams played on the winning East Team during the McDonalds All-American High School All-Star Game on March 30th.
The Jordan Brand Classic is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. The International Game begins at 3:30 p.m., followed by the Regional Game at 5:30 p.m., leading up to the main event. Former Syracuse star, and current NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony is one of the many big names to have played in The Classic. The Jordan Brand Classic will be nationally televised on ESPN2.
