Johnson Earns NBA All-Rookie Honors

Wesley Johnson, who earned consensus All-American honors while at Syracuse, has been named to the NBA All-Rookie Team. Johnson was a first-round draft pick of the Minnesota Timberwolves last June.
Johnson earned a spot on the league's All-Rookie Second Team.
The All-Rookie First Team featured Blake Griffin (Clippers), Johh Wall (Wizards), Landry Fields (Knicks), DeMarcus Cousins (Kings) and Gary Neal (Spurs). Joining Johnson on the the Second Team were Greg Monroe (Pistons), Eric Beldsoe (Clippers), Derrick Favors (Jazz), and Paul George (Pacers).
Johnson played in 79 games and started 63 contests as a first-year NBA performer. He averaged 9.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per contest.
In addition to his All-American laurels at Syracuse, Johnson was the BIG EAST Conference Player of the Year in 2009-10. A transfer from Iowa State, Johnson played one season at Syracuse before entering the NBA Draft.
