Syracuse is scheduled to open the Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off with a home game against Manhattan according to tournament pairings announced today. Albany and Brown will play the other first-round contest in Syracuse's Carrier Dome. The first- and second-round doubleheaders will be played November 14-16.
Other first-round regional sites are Oklahoma State, Stanford and Virginia Tech. The four regional winners advance to the NIT Season Tip-Off semifinals in Madison Square Garden on November 23 and the consolation and finals are slated for November 25.

The remaining teams will play third- and fourth-round doubleheaders November 21-22 on the campuses of the three highest remaining seeds. Participating squads will not be paired with the same team twice. Hosts will be selected based on geographic compatibility.

Syracuse has a 20-7 advantage in the all-time series with Manhattan. The two programs last met in 2005-06 and the Orange defeated the Jaspers, 87-82 in overtime. Syracuse has won all seven previous meetings with Albany, including a 75-43 decision in the 2009 2K Sports Classic in the Dome. The Orange has a 4-3 edge in the all-time series with Brown. In the most recent outing between the programs, Syracuse defeated the Bears, 101-52, in the 1986 NCAA Regionals at the Dome.
